ELKHART, Ind. — The Concord Education Foundation, a new nonprofit dedicated to supporting students across Concord Community Schools, officially announced its launch today. The foundation will work to connect students, teachers and the community with resources and opportunities that strengthen every school in the district, from preschool through grade 12.
The foundation was formed to serve as a bridge for the district’s funding gaps, giving the Concord community one trusted, localized place to direct their support. Its work centers on three focus areas: college and career readiness, early childhood education and teacher support.
Through its efforts, the foundation plans to support college and career advisor programs, dual credit and Advanced Placement opportunities, internships and apprenticeships that help students graduate ready for their next step, whether that’s college, the military or the workforce. The foundation will also back Concord’s “Mini Minutemen” preschool program, helping the district’s youngest learners build a strong academic foundation from day one. Additionally, the foundation will provide teacher grants, classroom resources and volunteer support so educators can focus on teaching.
“Concord has always had people who care deeply about these schools. The foundation gives all of that caring a home and a direction. I can’t wait to see what we build together,” said Tara Towner, President, Board of Directors.
